A New Chapter in Boone, North Carolina

Our move to Boone began with an exciting opportunity for my wife to join Appalachian State University as a professor. After years of work toward completing her Ph.D. at Clemson University, this move represents an incredible professional milestone for her and a meaningful new beginning for our entire family.

It is also an opportunity for us to build a life in a place that reflects many of the things we value.

Boone offers mountain views, changing seasons, outdoor adventures, a strong sense of community, and a slower rhythm that encourages you to be present. It is the kind of place where my family can hike, explore, spend more time outside, and create new traditions together.

For me, it also feels like a natural setting for creativity.

The Blue Ridge Mountains have a character that is difficult to describe until you experience them. The fog rolling across the ridgelines, the winding roads, the changing leaves, and the quiet overlooks all feel cinematic before a camera is ever turned on.

While the location is changing, the heart of Alex Chapman Studios is not.

I will continue creating wedding films that feel emotional, timeless, and personal. My approach will remain focused on authentic moments, intentional storytelling, and preserving the atmosphere of the day—not simply documenting a sequence of events.

The move also gives me the opportunity to serve couples throughout Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, and the surrounding North Carolina High Country.

This area is home to some truly remarkable wedding settings. From intimate mountain ceremonies and historic estates to elegant resorts and outdoor celebrations overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains, the High Country offers couples a wedding experience that feels both elevated and deeply connected to nature.

I am excited to bring my style of wedding filmmaking into these spaces.

Although Boone will become home, I am not leaving the South Carolina wedding community behind.

I will continue traveling to Greenville, Spartanburg, Travelers Rest, and other parts of the Upstate to film weddings through 2027 and beyond when the celebration is the right fit.

Many of my strongest professional relationships are in South Carolina. Local photographers, venues, planners, and past couples have played an important role in the growth of Alex Chapman Studios. Those relationships mean a great deal to me, and I look forward to continuing them.

For couples who have already booked me for a South Carolina wedding, nothing about the experience or commitment changes. I will still arrive prepared, work closely with the vendor team, and give your story the same attention and care that I always have.

Boone simply becomes a new home base—not a boundary.

As a filmmaker, I am especially inspired by environments that add texture and emotion to a story.

The High Country provides that naturally.

A wedding film can begin with the quiet movement of clouds across the mountains. A couple can exchange private vows beneath the trees. Portraits can unfold along a trail, beside a historic building, or on an overlook as the sun disappears behind the ridgeline.

But the scenery will never be the entire story.

Beautiful landscapes can create an incredible setting, but the people remain the heart of every film. The laughter, relationships, family traditions, handwritten letters, emotional reactions, and unscripted moments are what transform beautiful footage into something meaningful.

My goal will always be to balance the beauty of the location with the intimacy of the couple's story.

Moving brings a mixture of emotions.

There is excitement about what is ahead, gratitude for what has already been built, and uncertainty that naturally comes with starting something new.

For my family, this move is about growth. It is about supporting one another, embracing new opportunities, and choosing a place where we can build the next season of our life together.

For Alex Chapman Studios, it is an opportunity to become part of a new wedding community while continuing to serve the couples and creative partners who helped shape the business.

I am excited to meet couples planning weddings in Boone and across the North Carolina mountains. I am excited to discover new venues, collaborate with local vendors, and tell stories against one of the most beautiful backdrops in the Southeast.

Most of all, I am excited to continue doing what I love.

No matter where a wedding takes place, the purpose remains the same: to preserve the people, emotions, and moments that made the day worth remembering.

South Carolina will always be part of my story.

Boone is where the next chapter begins.
